Q & A: Disciplinary Tribunal
Disciplinary Tribunal
Q. I am a nurse and have had a complaint from an old patient about my work at the hospital. My employer investigated and I thought it was all resolved but now the Nursing Council are laying charges!
Are these criminal charges? Can I get a lawyer?
A. We have acted for various professionals who have found themselves in this position. The charges will be heard in your relevant Disciplinary Tribunal, in your case the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal. You will be entitled to a lawyer and we certainly recommend instructing one. If you are no longer working we can apply for civil legal aid for you.
