Jeremy is a senior divorce lawyer. He has a particular interest and expertise in separation cases that involve trusts, businesses and significant investment portfolios.
Jeremy’s opinions are often sought by news media. He has made many presentations at legal gatherings throughout Australasia. His papers on a variety of topics are in the LexisNexis Family Law Guide.
Jeremy began practising law in 1992, with Sharp Tudhope in Tauranga. He then went offshore to further his experience. Four years in England included time with Lloyds of London.
Jeremy prefers a direct approach in divorce negotiations. He represents his clients personally at round table meetings or in mediation. He frequently appears in the Family Court, High Court and sometimes the Court of Appeal. Jeremy has until recently been the convenor of the Auckland Family Courts Association. He is also a lecturer at the College of Law, and runs workshops for New Zealand’s law students. Jeremy is married with three young children.
Jeremy has filed successful human rights cases against the Crown. He maintains some legal aid work in family and civil litigation to represent clients in cases against the Police and Department of Corrections.
